Today is Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day so don’t forget to whisk up some batter and tuck in. Traditionally, this was a day of indulgence when people would use up all of their stores of fat, butter or eggs so that they could fast for 40 days during the reflective and lean time of Lent. Now it is more a celebration of a great and easy dish and an occasion to get together.
