Four artisan food and drink producers - Bristol Beer Factory, Trethowan’s Dairy, Orchard Pig and Strawberry Hill Vineyard are collaborating to bring the public a unique tasting event at the Kings Arms on Whiteladies Rd, Bristol.
On Tuesday 19th October the Kings Arms is hosting a Great Cheese Taste Off where the drinks producers compete against each other to be voted the best partner with cheeses.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to taste artisan Cheese, Cider, Beers and Wines and learn how they can work together in harmonious pairings. The producers will be providing a very hands-on introduction and education about their products, which are the result of years of knowledge and passion, in order to win your votes. You decide which are the best pairings of the evening.

Trethowan’s Dairy makes the multi-award winning Gorwydd Caerphilly, winner of Best Traditional Cheese at the World Cheese Awards. They run stalls at Borough Market in London and St Nick’s Market in Bristol, where their regular Wednesday Raclettes and Toasties are becoming something of a legend!

Bristol Beer Factory will be showcasing some new and exciting beers at the event from their new bottle-conditioned range as well as the National Award winning Milk Stout. The brewery is an independent micro-brewery producing top quality beers, using the finest ingredients.

Orchard Pig Cider produce wonderful, lightly sparkling multi-award winning ciders. These premium ciders are made from a mix of over 10 varieties of hand-graded apples, harvested from unsprayed and naturally maintained orchards. Crushed, pressed and fermented, the ciders are matured for at least six months to produce the depth of flavour that is proving so popular.

Strawberry Hill Vineyard grow vines both outside and in glass houses. Producing many different types of wine including a Classic Sparkling wine from Orion Grapes, they won the Bronze Medal in The English Wine of the Year Awards 2008 for the Pinot Rose 2004 with a further 3 Bronze and a Highly Commended in the 2010 Awards.

This event offers a splendid opportunity to enjoy tasty artisan cheeses, handmade local ciders, fantastic English wines and superb beers in a fun environment. The event starts at 7.30pm and costs £15 per person.
