I’ve been excited about Kick Ass for a long time, so I had already built it up to be the best comic adaptation since Watchmen. I was nearly right. Kick Ass is visually brilliant, the costumes, sets and lighting, in particular the fight scenes, are near perfect. The script is also impeccable, probably partly due to the fact that the film and the comic were written hand in hand that’s how much confidence comic writer Mark Millar had that it would make an amazing film. He wasn’t wrong. Also it has to be said that the films lead Aaron Johnson did an incredible job at an American accent considering he’s from just outside London. It was a treat to be in a cinema screen where everyone seemed to having a good time and enjoying the film.
