Vicar dies from stab wounds in Thornbury near Bristol.

The terrible tale is unfolding of the Reverend John Suddards who was found dead in the Vicarage.

The historical town of Thornbury is rarely featured in the news on a national level but all eyes are drawn to the area and the horrific goings on last Monday. Reverend John Suddard was known as a quiet man and a key community member, all those that knew him were truly shocked and saddened by the news.

A grey cloud draws over Thornbury and locals are understandably fearful of the goings on. St. Marys Church is still within a police cordon as a forensic team go through the scene to further understand what took place.

The Reverend had come to Thornbury from Essex where he had been for ten years and a very well liked man. He had only been in Thornbury for a few months. Police are appealing to anybody who may have seen Mr Suddard after 12.30pm on Monday.

Locals expressed a deep feeling of loss, despite his short time in the area he had made a strong impact on the parish.

Rev Suddards had been a clergy man for 22 years, the former barrister had changed his life’s course after a car accident.
