The inclement July weather we’ve had over the last few weeks didn’t deter the ladies from donning their best hats and finery for the glamorous Ladies Night at Bath Racecourse last Friday!

A crowd of over 4500 attended and as always the majority of Ladies made a special effort to dress to impress at the annual event. As is traditional at ladies events throughout racecourses, the best dressed and best hat competitions took place with the winners taking home some fantastic prizes which totalled a value of over £850.00, from Bath’s fashionable shopping area Milsom Place,.

This years winners were chosen by Ian Gosden, Managing Director of Higos Insurance who were enjoying sponsoring the race meeting for the second year. He said “There was a fantastic array of hats and outfits on display. The ladies had made a real effort to get into the spirit of the evening and it was a tough judging decision. The hats were especially impressive and wouldn’t have looked out of place at Ascot! Overall I think we managed to choose two deserving winners and I hope they enjoy their prizes!”

Amongst the glamorous crowd were some famous faces, including Bath Rugby player Michael Stevenson who was spotted enjoying the evening with his wife. The evening ended on a high with a performance from party band ‘The Chip Shop Boys’ who kept up the spirits of the crowd despite the rain!

The next race meeting at Bath takes place this Thursday evening. Gates open 4:00pm, first race 5:55pm and last race 8:35pm. Centre course tickets cost £10.00 per person, Grandstand and Paddock tickets cost £16.00 and Premier tickets cost £20.00.
